Great message! I felt like crying while I watched your clip because it is so easy for kids to get “plugged in” and so hard to get “unplugged”. Thanks for the great video to show to kids!

Can’t be said too often. And how would they know, unless someone cares enough to tell them?!? Thank you for sharing this message!

    Hi Christine,
I do remember! It was a thrill for me to skype with students in Korea! I’ve heard the Please Write in This Book will be published in a special edition containing both English and Korean. Say hi to all your friends and your very nice teacher.

I love, Mary Amato’s books! Today she went to my school, and talked about her life. I read The word eater, Please write in this book, and stinky and successful. They were amazing! Mary Amato made me want to become an author when I grow up. Your biggest fan, Michelle

    Hi Book Lover,
I have to say that I never run out of ideas. If you feel as if you don’t have enough ideas, or if you have a problem coming up with ideas, create a little brainstorming notebook and start writing down ideas. Write all ideas down, even if you think they might not be good. You will improve if you keep your eyes and ears open.–Mary Amato

    Thank you so much!

In school we do have notebooks where we write down all the Ideas. It actually does help! When did you start writing your first book?

I think naked mole-rats are interesting and have such a funny name…I put them in some of my other books as an “inside joke.”
