What a privilege to be chosen by An Open Book Foundation to present two writing workshops to fourth and fifth graders at Seaton Elementary School in Washington DC. The minute I walked into the school, I loved the atmosphere. Great teacher and students!
First I introduced the kids to my book Please Write in this Book.
Next we worked on developing characters with an improv game (and a clean sock!).
Finally, each student walked away with a signed copy of my book to keep. Thanks to all the students and staff, to Karen Spern, Seaton’s librarian, and to Dara LaPorte and Janet Zwick from An Open Book Foundation.
