Thanks to Mrs. Liu and Mrs. Agarwal for inviting me to Landon School for Boys. Here I am standing next to the fantastic life-size image of me created by a talented Landon student. He even got my boots right!
The boys were attentive and engaged and asked excellent questions.
After my presentation, fifth grade teacher Mrs. Rhodes surprised me by giving me collaborative stories that her students had written. She told me that my book Please Write in this Book, inspired her to ask her students to write collaboratively. How fascinating for me to get a glimpse into the imaginations of these 5th grade boys. I particularly enjoyed the story titled The Earthquake because each writer had a distinct voice.
Keep reading and writing, Landon students!

Wow, those Landon students really went all out! That life-size Mary is quite a tribute!
When my fourth grade students read “Please Write in this Book” back in the fall, they fell in love with the characters who were each so distinct from each other, and so very close to their own reality. The boys in the class, in particular, loved reading your book. Still hoping to have you visit my class at French International… maybe next year 😀
Cheers!
Hi Jane! My visit at Landon was spectacular. Would love to come back for more in-depth workshops. Hope your writing and work is going well.
