Write a Song as a Gift
Two online sessions: Nov 10 and Nov 17 at 5:00-5:40 EST
Create a song for someone you love in this two-part online workshop. We’ll create a rough draft during the first session and then refine that draft in the second workshop. We’ll be assisted in crafting our lyrics (something that can seem daunting) by using a specific form, something I’ve found helpful in my recent classes. No prior experience with music education required–just a love of singing. You won’t be pressured or required to share what you write or to sing in front of others. Bring pencil and paper. $30 total. Write a Song as a Meditation
Two online sessions Dec 8 and Dec 15 at 5:00-5:40 pm EST
As the winter solstice arrives, we need nurturing and calm. Yet our daily lives often become more hectic around this season. In this online workshop, we’ll learn a meditative song and then learn a strategy for creating our own. The first session will focus on generating our initial song. The second will focus on how to deepen our meditations. You won’t be pressured or required to share what you write or to sing in front of others. Bring pencil and paper. $30 total. Register.

- Each of these workshops has two sessions; however, if you can’t make both sessions, you can still learn strategies and generate a song.
- After the end of the second session for each workshop, I’ll invite anyone who would like to stay on and share their songs to do so. I’ll ask whoever sticks around if they would like feedback or if they’d just like to share. If you’d like to do that, plan on the session going until 6 pm EST.
- If times are tight and you need a fee waiver, just reach out.
