When I give author presentations, kids expect me to talk about how I write funny books. I do that, but I also remind them that writing is a powerful tool to express emotions, one that they will have their entire lives. I show them my childhood journals and explain how writing helped me through some difficult periods of my life. Today, I got this letter from a child in Pennsylvania: “Thank you for coming to my School. I like that you inspire me to Keep writing. I have been haveing hard Times at my house So I tride writing and it really worked so Thank you!!”
